A plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a massive punch-up broke out over a farting passenger travelling from Dubai.
Two Dutchman who were sitting next to the overweight passenger who kept breaking wind objected loudly – and demanded the crew on flight HV6902 do something.
However the flight crew were less than sympathetic and when the man allegedly continued to break wind without any attempt to hold back, a fight started.
The pilot of the Dutch low-cost airline Transavia Airlines flight from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol then decided to make an emergency landing at Vienna airport in Austria.
Police then boarded the plane after the pilot made a report about "passengers on the rampage" and four suspects were taken off the plane by cops.
A police spokesman confirmed that the incident centred around a passenger suffering from wind who was not attempting to restrain himself and that this offended the two young Dutchmen.
As well as the two Dutchman, police also escorted two young women off the plane, identified as Nora L., 25, because of local privacy laws and her unnamed sister, both from Rotterdam.
The young women complained to local media that their removal had been unfair. Nora said: "It was crazy that we were included, we had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn't do anything. All I will say is that the crew were really provocative and stirred things up."
A video of the passengers being removed was posted online on social media by Alfred Dekker.
A spokesman for the airline told local media that the four people have now received a ban from any further travels, and in order to complete their journey they needed to find another airline to take them to Amsterdam.
They were not arrested because they had not broken any Austrian laws.

Dù bị phàn nàn và nhận được yêu cầu “kiềm chế” từ tổ bay, vị hành khách kia vẫn không có dấu hiệu dừng lại, khiến những người ngồi cạnh tức giận, dẫn tới cãi vã. Mọi chuyện vượt khỏi tầm kiểm soát, phi công phải xin hạ cánh vì “hành khách có hành vi bạo lực”.
Hiện chưa rõ vị hành khách liên tục “xì hơi” có mắc bệnh về đường tiêu hóa hay không. Cảnh sát Áo đã đến và đưa những người liên quan khỏi máy bay song không có lệnh bắt giữ nào được đưa ra.
Hồi tháng 7 năm ngoái, một chuyến bay của hãng hàng không American Airlines cũng phải sơ tán tại sân bay ở Bắc Carolina vì một người đàn ông liên tục “xì hơi”, gây buồn nôn và nhức đầu cho những hành khách đi cùng.
